Dump the duties & taxes

The problem.

Canadians who spend more than $20 shopping online outside of Canada are paying the government up to 30% duty and tax penalties on their purchases.

Raising the de minimis threshold to $200 CAD would bring direct economic benefits to Canadian consumers and businesses and bring Canada in line with the online economies of other industrialized countries.

Real action.

Over 15,000 signatures on the petition to raise the de minimis level which was presented in the House of Commons by Liberal MP Sonia Sidhu on

October 24, 2016.

Thousands of Canadians have sent postcards to Finance Minister Bill Morneau so far asking him to bring Canada's de minimis level in line with other industrialized countries.

Real stories.
